As friends get further away and our lives get busier, we want to be able to still share our lives with friends and family

Cody's wedding

My good friend Cody got married on April 14th.  It was a fun filled weekend of activities!  Bennett, Autumn, and I went up to my parent's house on Wednesday night since the wedding was in Carpinteria (North of Ventura, south of Santa Barbara).  Luke had to work during the week so he drove up Saturday for the wedding.

Thursday:
Bachelorette day in Santa Barbara - Massages, Wine tasting, Dinner
It was a much needed relaxing day
(with the girls and without the kids)

Wine tasting..pinot noir is my favorite!

Delicious dinner at Opal Restaurant on State Street

Berry Creme brulee - Yum!

Friday:
Rehearsal & BBQ
Unfortunately, there was torrential downpour all day...ugh!  But the bride kept her cool (amazing!) and we rushed through the rehearsal in the rain.  It POURED on the way to the delicious BBQ they had planned at a nearby park & continued to do so for the first half hour or so.  We all huddled under the EZ-ups (all except for Bennett who was running around in the rain & mud).  After a little while, the rain let up, the sun peeked out, and all was well.

Santa Maria style BBQ

Brrrrrr.....

Bennett was a HUGE fan of the wet & muddy slide

Saturday:
The big day!  The day was beautiful - how it is only after a good rain: blue skies, white puffy clouds, a slight breeze, warm sunshine, a clean feeling.  We all met for pictures before the ceremony.  We took some cute ones at the reception site, on the beach, & on the nearby railroad tracks.  The ceremony was short & sweet and the reception was quite fun.  It was great to catch up with college friends & have a nice night out just the 2 of us.  Thanks to Grandpa & Grandma Izu who watched our 2 crazy kids!  They loved every bit of it!
