As friends get further away and our lives get busier, we want to be able to still share our lives with friends and family

Heaven

AWANA started in the beginning of September.  Bennett just loves it!

He has homework each week to read part of a story, read a Bible story, and memorize a Bible verse.  There are little activities that he can do if he wants to (and he usually wants to!)  This week was to create a picture of heaven.  We read a few verses depicting heaven and then he went to work.  I know that most artwork created by kids is only adorable to their parents, but I still had to share.

He used pencil, markers, paint, and glitter.
So fun.

Jesus is in the middle (complete with holes in his hands & feet).  There is a rainbow on top.  There are 2 suns with smiley faces on the right hand side (because "heaven should probably have 2 suns since it is so bright").  The whole background is yellow scribbles to represent "the brightness of God".  And the rest is just paint & glitter.

Makes me happy.

40 years!

We helped Dean & Candi celebrate 40 years of marriage with a yummy dinner at the Green Dragon Tavern in Carlsbad.  It is a replica of  Boston's original Green Dragon Tavern, where Sam Adams, Paul Revere and other founders met in secret to plan the Boston Tea Party and the American Revolution.  Fun place.  Good food.  Slow service.  But great company.

Adoption Celebration

After a long wait, Jordy & Darcy were able to adopt Sumner Anthony Szabo.
Such a sweet little baby.

The Henkens held an Adoption Celebration.  So many people have been praying for this little guy, and it was a wonderful time to celebrate God's miracles.

While the cat's away...

When Luke & I overlap work days, our kids get to do so many fun things!
They love it!

These are a few cute old pictures from the spring:

My favorite!
Our kids have grown so much by these experiences that they are enjoying with other people.  I could not ask for better people to love on our kiddos!

Celebrating H. A. Rey

For those of you who aren't in the know, H. A. Rey is the writer/illustrator of the Curious George books.  Our Vally Center library had a story time and craft.  It was so fun!

After the stories, all the kids got to make cute monkey faces.
Bennett & Autumn LOVED it.

Growth Group Kickoff

Growth group takes a break for summer.  It is nice to have Thursday nights free, but by the end of summer we are always ready to get back into it!  The church has a fall kickoff event for leaders & hosts.  There is always a ridiculously funny theme complete with dinner, games, and skit.  It always pumps me up for group to start.
