As friends get further away and our lives get busier, we want to be able to still share our lives with friends and family

"Ma Moi"

Bennett likes the word "more," but pronounces it "moi."
Moi fruit for breakfast, moi old avocados to push off the edge of the grove road, moi scrolling through pictures on the camera.
"Moi" has now morphed into "ma moi" or rather, "one more."
Ma moi chicken finger left on the plate, ma moi book before nap, ma moi shoe to tie.

Last week it was "Ma Moi" snowball!

For those of you that do not live in the greater San Diego area, it POURED last Monday. It was a super cold rain that lasted quite some time (those of you who don't live in southern California can laugh now). It was so cold we had some hail that evening. Knowing it was so cold outside, we figured that there would probably be snow on the mountains in the morning.

We were right! So off to the mountains we went!

We drove up to Palomar Mountain which is about a half hour away. Even as low as 3000 feet elevation, there was a decent amount of snow to play. We drove up the grade a while longer to find a prime playing spot.
Bennett totally approved!

Snowball time!

There was a cute little hill that was perfect for sledding!
We didn't have a sled, so we used a freezer cooler bag that we keep in the car. It actually worked wonderfully if you gave it a little tug.

We also made snow angels

Bennett enjoyed practicing his jumping skills

Even Autumn enjoyed the fun!

The trees were beautiful!

Some family pics

The 4 of us...Bennett is a bit distracted.

Since we were already out and about with lunches packed, bundly warm clothes, and 2 kids that were troopers, we decided to head a little further out to the town of Julian.
We love to come here each year when there is snow.

Bennett loved wearing his "mi-mis" to keep his hands from freezing while making snowballs.

Of course, we had to get some apple pie.
Instead of just enjoying a slice right there, we decided to buy a whole pie & take it to go. We went to MOM'S shop and got an apple boysenberry crumble.
Yum!
It was a fun day for the whole family!
It was a great way to end the 2 weeks Luke had off of work! We didn't want it to end!

  3. I love it! I love that you guys live that close too, it's just a hop and skip away! The funny part was, as I was reading the post, and scrolling through the photos, I was thinking, "Where is baby Autumn??" And then I looked closely and it looks like some of them she's tucked away inside your jacket! How cute is that ?? She is so sweet, and how exciting her first snow day !
