For the last 5 years or so, I have been working summers down at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas as a junior lifeguard instructor. I thought it would be a cool job, so I got connected with the right people, found out that I needed to go through the lifeguard academy, did just that, and got hired.
I took last summer off (due to the new addition of our family) but went back to work for the same wonderful boss this past summer. She has started a new summer camp for 6, 7, and 8 year olds called Beach Kids. I only worked part time, but had so much fun down at the beach each day playing with kids (and my coworkers) in the water and sand. So sad summer is over! For those of you with kids nearing this age - sign them up for the fun!

Wish I'd known you were there! I would have come said hi. :) I'd love to get Gigi in that in a couple of years!
